Job summary

Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA) is seeking a Medical Assistant for the CHA Broadway Care Center in Somerville, MA. This full-time position supports a busy primary care team, rooming patients, recording vitals, documenting in the EHR, and assisting providers.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or MA program completion (or 1 year experience), current BLS, and strong English communication. 40 hours weekly, with shifts including occasional evenings in a dynamic health system.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Graduation from an accredited medical assistant program or one year of MA experience in lieu of program completion required.
  • Maintains current American Heart Association Basic Life Support Certification.
  • Ability to write and verbally communicate in English; second language a plus.
  • Current experience as a Medical Assistant and administrative duties in a clinical setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Actively manage patient flow through the clinic.
  • Room patients and assist providers with histories.
  • Document in the EHR and record vital signs.
  • Support clinical procedures and order/ schedule tests.
  • Coordinate outreach, follow-up visits, and vaccinations as needed.
