St Peter’s Health Partners Medical Associates is seeking a Medical Assistant for a full-time day shift in the Albany, NY area. The role supports nurses and physicians, performs essential clinical tasks, and ensures accurate documentation in the electronic medical record.

The ideal candidate will have MA training, certification (CMA/CCMA/RMA), and experience with an electronic health record system. Responsibilities include patient prep, specimen handling, and front-end revenue-cycle support.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalency.
• 10 months’ work and/or clinical training in the healthcare field.
• Proficient in obtaining manual vital signs.
• Experience using an electronic health record system.
• Commitment to confidentiality and respect.
• Knowledge of basic anatomy and medical terminology.
• Experience assisting physicians, nurses, or other healthcare providers in performing clinical tasks and procedures.
• Graduate of a Medical Assistant Training Program.
• Holds National Medical Assistant Certification: CMA, CCMA, RMA.

Responsibilities

• Escort patient to exam room, record vital signs, and document health information in the EMR.
• Respond to patient concerns appropriately.
• Process referrals and obtain pre-authorizations for testing.
• Follow protocol for specimen collection and delivery.
• Participate in meetings and practice huddles.
• Complete patient forms and ensure scans in EMR.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and confidentiality.
• Assist physicians and nurses in clinical tasks as needed.
• Cross-cover other areas as needed.
• Front-end duties: scheduling, registration, check-in/out, revenue-cycle tasks.
