Job summary

Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital is seeking a Signature Services Clinician to join our team. You will take patient vitals, greet patients, and act as a liaison between departments and physician offices to ensure smooth care delivery.

Responsibilities include coordinating patient flow, preparing requisitions and medical reports, and educating patients on protocols. AHS/BLS certification and EMT/CMA/REQUIRED credentials help support our high standard of care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• LPN/EMT/CMA/RMA/CCMA/NRCMA certification as listed.
• AHA BLS/CPR certification.
• Zero to two years of customer service experience.

Responsibilities

• Takes patient vitals.
• Greets incoming patients.
• Acts as liaison between the Program and hospital departments/physician offices.
• Escorts patients and coordinates care delivery.
• Prepares and manages patient-related documents and reports.
• Educates patients on protocols and testing details.

The salary range for this position is $20.64 - $26.83 (Hourly Rate). Placement within the salary range is dependent on several factors such as relevant work experience and internal equity. For positions represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range is guided by the rules outlined in the collective bargaining agreement.

Description

The Signature Services Clinician reflects the mission, vision, and values of Northwestern Memorial, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

Responsibilities

• Takes patient vitals.
• Greets incoming patients.
• Acts as a liaison between the Program and other hospital departments/physician offices.
• Escorts the patient throughout the day to meet their needs.
• Trouble shoots and problem solves care delivery issues. Notifies clinic leadership and/or appropriate department/physician office of deviations in the patient’s schedule.
• Provides each department and/or physicians and administrators with the necessary requisitions needed and collects appropriate medical reports and billing statements. Collects and tracks medical information for internist prior to scheduled exit conference.
• Pre-orders meals/snacks for patients as requested. Sets up rooms prior to the arrival of patients and cleans up after last patients exit.
• Assembles patient exit packet for internist prior to scheduled exit conference or debrief.
• Educates patients with protocol and testing details/information
• Collaborates with other clinical staff as appropriate
• May administer shots/injections.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or GED.

Licensure

• Must have either: LPN licensure in Illinois OR EMT licensure in Illinois OR Current certification as a: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) through American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) OR Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) through American Medical Technologists (AMT) OR National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) through the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) OR Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) through the National Health career Association (NHA) OR Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA) through the National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP).

Certification

• American Heart Association accredited Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification.

Experience

• Zero (0) to two (2) years’ experience in customer service or related field.

Behavioral Attributes

• Proficiency in the use of office equipment.
• Strong computer skills.

Preferred

• Bachelor’s degree.
• One to two years of ambulatory care experience.
• Experience with electronic medical record.
