Job summary

Trinity Health IHA Medical Group in Michigan is seeking a compassionate Medical Assistant to support providers in delivering patient-centered care. You will welcome patients, collect histories, assist with exams, testing, and specimen collection.

Responsibilities include administering medications, communicating results, educating patients and families, coordinating care, and supporting quality improvement programs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Successful completion of accredited/approved MA program and externship; MA Internship; EMT/Paramedic program; or Certified Athletic Trainer.
• MA non-credentialed I: MA eligible to attain Medical Assistant Certification is desired, or EMT with current/active license in Michigan, or Paramedic per National Registry/License in Michigan.
• Valid CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and prepare patients for appointments.
• Collect and document patient histories, vital signs, and health information.
• Assist providers with exams, procedures, testing, and specimen collection.
• Administer medications and perform diagnostic testing as directed.
• Communicate test results and provider instructions to patients.
• Provide patient and family education to support better health outcomes.
• Coordinate care between patients and providers.
• Support quality improvement initiatives and disease management programs.
