Anne Arundel Dermatology in Clearwater, FL is seeking a Medical Assistant to support dermatology physicians. You will room patients, obtain vital signs, prepare procedure trays, and assist with derm procedures while maintaining EMR documentation.

This full-time role requires 1-2 years MA experience; dermatology experience preferred; HS diploma required. Travel between Countryside and Belcher locations may be needed. Excellent benefits are provided.

Overview

We're hiring a Medical Assistant to join our dermatology clinic in Clearwater, FL.The Medical Assistant will assist physicians and other providers by preparing procedure trays, ensuring adequate supplies for the department and assisting with patient care.

Schedule & Location:

This is a full-time, 4-day workweek position averaging approximately 38-40 hours per week.

• Monday, Thursday & Friday: 8:00 AM-7:00 PM

• Tuesday or Wednesday: 8:00 AM-5:00 PM

• Must be willing to travel between our Countryside and Belcher locations (approximately 15 minutes apart)

• Accurately document patient information and scribe provider notes in the EMR.
• Assist with administration of local anesthetic.
• Ensure phone messages, faxes, and interdepartmental communications are handled in a timely manner.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous Medical Assistant experience required
• Dermatology and/or cosmetic experience strongly preferred
• Medical Assistant certification or completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred, unless otherwise required by state law.
• Experience with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) preferred.
• Comfortable supporting both general medical and procedural patient care, including rooming patients, obtaining medical histories and vital signs, and assisting providers with clinical procedures.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to providing an exceptional patient experience.
• Excellent attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced clinical environment.
• Collaborative, dependable, and comfortable working as part of a physician-led clinical team.
• Ability and willingness to learn new clinical workflows, technology, and dermatology-specific procedures.
• Flexibility to travel to nearby practice locations when needed based on business and patient-care needs.

Licensure/Certifications/Education

Education & Experience:

• 1-2 years of recent Medical Assistant, Certified Nursing Assistant, or other clinical patient care experience preferred.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant Program, Certified Nursing Assistant program or completion of a bachelor’s degree program in the pre-med or pre-physician assistant track preferred.
• CPR certified preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Standing and walking for extended periods of time
• Moderate amount of talking, bending, twisting, reaching, and balancing.
• Use of hands and fingers.
• Handling of materials such as paper, supplies, etc.
• Lifting and carrying up to 30 pounds.
• Risk of exposure to infectious organisms and the possibility of injury due to chemicals and sharp objects.
