Job summary

CHRISTUS Health is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support patient care in a fast-paced clinic. The role includes accurate data entry for patient registration and insurance verification and requires strong judgment and professional, caring communication with patients, families, and licensed staff.

Typical schedule is 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with full-time status. A CMA certification and BLS are required, and about 1 year of medical office experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
• 1 year of medical office experience preferred.
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification is required.
• BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Assisting the physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants in giving superior medical care.
• Accurate Data Entry of charges on patient accounts, registering patients, and updating patient accounts.
• Insurance Verification and recording of Statistics.
• Assist with scheduling patient appointments, answering phones, keeping providers informed of changes, and informing patients of their benefits.
• Other duties as assigned.
