Job summary

CHRISTUS Health is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support patient care through accurate data entry for registration and insurance verification. The CMA must demonstrate good judgment and communicate effectively with patients, families, licensed personnel, insurance companies, and third-party payers in a professional, caring manner.

Qualifications

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification is required.
• BLS certification/CPR (Basic Life Support) required.
• 1 year of medical office experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants in delivering patient care.
• Accurate data entry of charges on patient accounts, patient registration, and updating accounts.
• Insurance verification and recording statistics.
• Assist with scheduling appointments, answer phones, inform providers of changes and patient benefits.
• Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Assisting the physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants in giving superior medical care.


• Accurate Data Entry of charges on patient accounts, registering patients, and updating patient accounts.


• Insurance Verification and recording of Statistics.


• Assist with scheduling patient appointments, answering phones, keeping providers informed of changes, and informing patients of their benefits.


• Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Education/Skills

• High School Diploma or Equivalent Preferred.

Experience

• 1 year of medical office experience preferred.

Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification is required.


• BLS required.
