AtlantiCare is looking for a Medical Assistant to support patient care by conducting interviews, collecting specimens, and assisting physicians in an ambulatory setting. Responsibilities include performing EKGs, CLIA-waived testing, and participating in telehealth visits.
The ideal candidate must have a High School Diploma, complete an accredited Medical Assistant program, and hold certifications in Phlebotomy and BLS. The role offers competitive pay and a range of benefits.
The Medical Assistant supports patient care within an ambulatory setting by conducting patient interviews, collecting specimens, assisting physicians with patient examinations, maintaining departmental inventory, and providing patient education. The role also performs phlebotomy for diagnostic studies, CLIA‑waived testing, EKGs, and drug and alcohol testing as needed. In addition, the Medical Assistant participates in the Virtualist Program, collecting patient intakes remotely and assisting in telehealth visits. The position does not involve hands‑on patient exams, procedures, specimen collection, or phlebotomy for diagnostic studies in the virtual‑clinic context. BLS certification is excluded for this program.
Hourly rate: $20.04 – $29.07. Full‑time: 37.5 hours per week, day shift. Weekly hours include occasional travel to other department locations.
Exposure to hazards of a medical office, including blood‑borne pathogens and hazardous substances. The role requires frequent reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, pushing, pulling, sitting, standing, walking, and lifting up to 100 lbs.
