Job summary

Easterseals MORC in Michigan is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support patient care and administrative tasks in a compassionate, team‑oriented setting.

The ideal candidate has CMA certification, at least 1 year of MA experience, and eligibility through CAAHEP/ABHES pathways for injection procedures.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• CMA certification required or eligible via CMA pathway.
• Graduate of CAAHEP- or ABHES-accredited program that qualifies for CMA (AAMA) pathway.
• Minimum 1 year experience as Medical Assistant.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients in a warm and welcoming environment and answers telephones.
• Updates and files patient medical records.
• Collects patient medical histories and records vital signs.
• Prepares patients for examination and explains treatment procedures.
• Gathers and prepares laboratory specimens and may perform basic tests.
• Disposes contaminated supplies.
• Instructs patients about medications and special diets, and orders/injects medications from onsite pharmacy as directed by a physician.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Certified Medical Assistant
• To be considered for this position, you musteither:
  • Hold a current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification through the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), or
  • Be a graduate of a CAAHEP- or ABHES-accredited Medical Assistant program that qualifies you to perform injections. Graduates of CAAHEP- or ABHES-accredited medical assisting programs are eligible for the CMA (AAMA) certification pathway.
• 1 year experience as a Medical Assistant
