Job summary

Duke Health Raleigh Pulmonary is looking for a Certified Medical Assistant to support providers in a busy outpatient setting. You will perform routine administrative tasks, collect histories and vitals, and assist with patient care to ensure smooth clinic operations.

Responsibilities include phlebotomy, lab order management, issuing refills as directed, calling prescriptions to pharmacies, and preparing patients for examinations. Monday–Friday day shifts.

Qualifications

• Certification by AAMA, AMT, NHA-CCMA, NCMA or ARMA required. BLS required.
• High school or GED graduation required; Level I preferred.
• CAAHEP or ABHES accreditation preferred for completed program.

Responsibilities

• Take medical histories and record vital signs for patients.
• Perform phlebotomy and manage lab supply orders.
• Authorize drug refills as directed and telephone prescriptions to pharmacies.
• Explain treatment procedures to patients and prepare them for examinations.

Job Summary

We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to perform routine administrative and patient care supportive duties in a health system medical practice to assist medical and/or nursing staff in the examination and treatment of patients and ensure office runs smoothly

Job Duties And Responsibilities

Job Eligibility Requirements

• Level I -- Graduation from accredited Medical Assistant program strongly preferred. High school or GED graduation required.
• Level II -- Graduation from a medical assistant program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) strongly preferred. High school or GED graduation required.
• Level III -- Graduation from a medical assistant program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) strongly preferred. High school or GED graduation required.

Job Hours

The schedule for this position is day shifts, Monday-Friday, with no weekends or holidays.
