Job summary

Catalyst Medical Clinic in Minnesota is seeking a part-time Medical Assistant to provide compassionate patient care under physician supervision in a busy family practice. You will assist with exams, tests, procedures and data entry while maintaining clinic flow and patient comfort.

The 0.5 FTE role covers Watertown and Chaska locations with hours Monday–Thursday 8:00 AM–4:00 PM and Friday 8:00 AM–1:00 PM. Benefits included.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Medical Assistant training or equivalent.
• Clinic experience preferred.
• Understanding of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, stock and clean exam rooms.
• Room patients and prepare for exams.
• Maintain an efficient, organized clinical flow.
• Gather and verify patient information; compile medical data.
• Assist with documentation of patient data into charts.
• Prep for injections, change dressings, and assist with minor procedures.
• Phlebotomy administration.
• Ensure coding requirements are followed during entry of patient information.
• Act as a prescribing delegate.
• Assist Care Coordinator with patient care services and medication supply management.
• Screen patient calls and document messages in the chart.

• Phlebotomy

The Medical Assistant is responsible for providing patient care to patients by assisting with diagnostic tests, procedures and treatments ordered by the physician in a family practice environment.

This is a part-time, .5 FTE, position with flexibility, clinic is open Monday - Thursday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM & Friday 8:00 AM - 1:00 PM out of our Watertown and Chaska locations.

Catalyst Medical Clinic is an operating division of Infinite Health Collaborative (i-Health), a group of local medical practices, owned and led by its physicians, on a mission to give patients more control over their healthcare.

Essential Functions

• Prepare, stock, and clean exam room


• Room patients and prepare for exam


• Maintain an efficient, organized clinical flow


• Gather and verify pertinent patient information; compile patient medical data


• Assist with documentation of patient data into chart


• Prep for injections, change dressings, assist with minor procedures


• Phlebotomy


• Ensure coding requirements are followed during entry of patient information


• Act as a prescribing delegate


• May also assist with any of the following:




• Assist Care Coordinator with patient care services


• Assist with medical supply inventory and ordering


• Screen patient calls and respond to patient in a timely manner. Document all phone messages in the patient’s chart




• Any and all other duties as assigned

Education And Experience Requirements

• High School diploma/GED or equivalent


• Medical Assistant or equivalent


• Clinic experience preferred


• Understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology required


• Knowledge of diagnostic procedures, pharmacology, and treatment assessments preferred

• Actual starting pay will vary based on education, skills, and experience.


• The pay range displayed reflects full-time compensation and will be prorated for employees working less than a full-time schedule.

Working Conditions

• Frequentlylift up to 50 pounds independently and occasionally up to 100 pounds with assistance.


• Requires the ability to stand, walk, bend, and move continuously throughout the shift.


• Must be able to frequently perform physical activities such as pushing, pulling, and reaching.


• Visual acuity to read electronic and paper documents.


• Auditory ability to participate in phone or video calls clearly.


• Manual dexterity to operate standard office equipment (e.g., computer, phone, printer).

Ability to:

• Work in the clinic, office or surgery center during business hours


• Travel independently throughout the clinic, office or surgery center (which may include movement from floor to floor); frequent bending, lifting, standing, stooping or sitting for long periods of time may be required


• Work at an efficient and productive pace, handle interruptions appropriately and meet deadlines


• Communicate and interact in a respectful and professional manner


• Prioritize workload while being flexible to meet the expectations of the daily operations


• Apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions


• Understand and execute a variety of instructions


• Effectively operate equipment and communicate on and operate the phone system


• Work independently with minimal supervision


• Travel to other work locations, if required
