Job summary

Baystate Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to join the Cardiology team in Greenfield, MA. The role supports the providers with patient intake, clinical care, and documentation, including EKGs and phlebotomy, within a busy cardiology practice.

The position offers full-time hours, a Monday–Friday schedule, and a sign-on bonus eligible for external hires. A nursing or MA program credential and CPR-BLS are required, with room for career ladder advancement.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• CPR-Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association required.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred or demonstrated MA experience.
• Credentialing through ARMA/AMT/CCMA/NCCT or equivalent required.
• MA ladder (MA I–IV) criteria may apply depending on experience.

Responsibilities

• Patient intake and history: room patients, record vital signs, histories, medications, and forms in EHR.
• Clinical and provider support: prepare treatment rooms, chaperone patients, assist during examinations and procedures.
• Orders and documentation: process provider orders, refills, prior authorizations, and document data in a timely manner.
• Procedures: perform EKGs, vision/hearing screenings, point-of-care testing; phlebotomy and immunizations per policy.
• Discharge and coordination: review discharge instructions, provide resources, coordinate referrals and follow-ups.
