Job summary

MainStreet Family Care in Cameron, NC is hiring a Medical Assistant to support on-site providers and deliver efficient patient care. You will assist during intake, assessments and procedures, document history and vitals, and help with room preparation and charting.

The position offers a rotating 4/3 schedule, competitive hourly pay, health/dental/vision benefits, supplemental insurance, a 401K plan, and paid time off. Prior MA experience is helpful but not required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience working in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, etc.) beneficial but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist Provider(s) in patient care to ensure high-quality outcomes.
• Triage patients promptly following clinic procedures.
• Document vital signs and medical history updates before visits.
• Perform lab tests per clinical guidelines and provider instructions.
• Maintain digital patient records and support transition to electronic systems.
• Prepare examination rooms and ensure cleanliness and readiness.
• Administer medications under provider supervision.
• Support providers during examinations and procedures.
• Position patients for x-rays as directed by providers.
• Monitor and manage medical inventory as needed.

As a Medical Assistant, you’ll play a key role in delivering top-notch care to our patients. We provide a range of services including urgent care, primary care, telemedicine, and occupational medicine. The ideal candidate will assist the on-site provider with patient intake, assessment, treatment, and discharge.

Responsibilities

• Our Medical Assistant is responsible for assisting Provider(s) in the care of patients to assure optimal delivery of medical care
• Triage patients promptly and in line with clinic procedures to ensure smooth workflow.
• Document vital signs, weight, and any updates to the patient’s medical history prior to each visit.
• Perform lab tests in compliance with clinical guidelines and medical provider instructions.
• Manage digital patient records and support the transition from paper records to electronic systems.
• Prepare examination rooms for patient appointments, ensuring cleanliness and readiness.
• Administer prescribed medications under provider supervision.
• Assist healthcare providers during patient examinations and procedures.
• Position patients for x-rays following provider directives.
• Help monitor and manage medical inventory when needed.

  • Monday – Friday: 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
  • Saturday and Sunday: 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
• KidsStreet
  • Monday – Friday: 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
  • Saturday and Sunday: 9:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m

KidStreet Locations

Montgomery, Pelham, Gainesville, Mobile, Augusta, Tallahassee, Columbus, Valdosta, Savannah, Charlotte,Wake Forest, Greenville, Wilmington, and Winston-Salem.

Rotating Schedule

Medical Assistants work on a rotating schedule, alternating between 4 days one week and 3 days the next, including every other weekend. This totals 7 workdays over a 14-day period.
