Job summary

Curando Medical Center in Miami-Dade County is seeking a bilingual Medical Assistant (English/Spanish) to support clinical and administrative operations in a patient-centered practice.

The ideal candidate will be reliable, detail-oriented, able to work independently, and maintain the highest standards of patient care, professionalism, and confidentiality, with experience in EHR/EMR systems and HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• Fluent in English and Spanish (verbal and written) is required.
• Minimum 2 years of Medical Assistant experience in a clinical setting.
• Current BLS/CPR certification (American Heart Association).
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and clinical workflows.
• Experience using EHR/EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examinations and procedures.
• Obtain and document vital signs and patient history.
• Assist providers during exams and minor procedures.
• Prepare, clean, and stock examination rooms per clinical standards.
• Ensure proper handling and sterilization of instruments.
• Schedule appointments, follow-ups, and referrals.
• Verify patient demographics and insurance information.
• Document patient information accurately in the EHR/EMR.

Position Summary
Curando Medical Center is seeking a professional, experienced, and bilingual Medical Assistant (English/Spanish) to support clinical and administrative operations in a patient-centered medical practice. The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently while maintaining the highest standards of patient care, professionalism, and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for medical examinations and procedures
• Obtain and accurately document vital signs and patient history
• Assist providers during exams and minor procedures
• Prepare, clean, and stock examination rooms according to clinical standards
• Ensure proper handling and sterilization of medical instruments
• Schedule appointments, follow-ups, and referrals
• Verify patient demographics and insurance information
• Accurately document patient information in the EHR/EMR system
• Answer incoming calls and assist patients professionally
• Communicate clearly with patients in English and Spanish
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and strict patient confidentiality
• Support a positive, efficient, and respectful clinical environment

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinical setting
• Fluent in English and Spanish (verbal and written) – required
• Current BLS/CPR certification (American Heart Association)
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and clinical workflows
• Experience using EHR/EMR systems
• Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA – AAMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA – AMT)
• Experience in Primary Care or Specialty clinics
• Experience with injections, venipuncture, or EKGs (within scope of practice)
• Familiarity with insurance verification and basic medical billing
