Job summary

Community Medical Group is seeking a skilled Medical Assistant – Basic X-Ray Machine Operator (BXMO) to join our Orlando clinic. This full-time role combines hands-on clinical duties with basic diagnostic imaging, supporting providers and ensuring efficient patient flow in a fast-paced environment.

Eligible candidates will have a BXMO certification (or plan to obtain), CPR/BLS, and ideally CMA/RMA credentials with EMR experience.

Qualifications

• Current Florida BXMO certification or ability to obtain within onboarding.
• CMA/RMA certification preferred.
• Current CPR/BLS certification.
• Minimum of one year of clinical or diagnostic imaging experience.
• Knowledge of radiographic techniques, anatomy, patient positioning, and radiation safety.
• Experience with EMR systems and clinical documentation.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic X-ray examinations as ordered and within BXMO scope.
• Prepare and position patients for imaging procedures, ensuring comfort and image quality.
• Operate and maintain radiographic equipment following safety protocols.
• Maintain X-ray logs, imaging records, and EMR documentation.
• Provide direct patient care by rooming patients and recording vitals.
• Assist providers during examinations and minor procedures.
• Administer medications and injections under provider direction.
• Collect, prepare, and process laboratory specimens for testing.
• Prepare and maintain examination rooms and supplies.
• Monitor vaccine refrigerator temperatures and expiry dates.
• Coordinate diagnostic testing, referrals, and follow-ups.
• Educate patients on treatments, medications, and follow-up care.
• Collaborate with clinicians to maintain efficient patient flow and care.
• Ensure HIPAA, OSHA, and safety regulations are followed.
• Maintain certifications and participate in continuing education.

Key Responsibilities

• Performbasic diagnostic X-ray examinations as ordered by providers and within the scope of Florida BXMO certification.
• Prepare and position patients for imaging procedures while ensuring comfort, safety, and optimal image quality.
• Operate and maintainradiographic equipment in accordance with radiation safety protocols and company standards.
• Maintain accurateX-ray logs, imaging records, and diagnostic documentation within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
• Providedirect patient care by rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, verifying patient information, and updating medical records.
• Assist providers duringpatient examinations, treatments, and minor clinical procedures.
• Administer medications and injections under provider direction and within authorized scope of practice.
• Collect, prepare, and process laboratory specimens for diagnostic testing.
• Prepare and maintain examination rooms, medical supplies, and clinical equipment to ensure cleanliness and readiness.
• Monitor and documentvaccine refrigerator temperatures and medication expiration dates in accordance with applicable regulations.
• Coordinate diagnostic testing, referrals, and follow-up appointments as needed.
• Supportpatient education by communicating provider-directed instructions regarding treatments, medications, and follow-up care.
• Collaborate with providers, nurses, and clinical team members to maintain efficient patient flow and deliver an excellent patient experience.
• Ensure compliance withHIPAA, OSHA, radiation safety regulations, and company policies and procedures.
• Maintain required certifications and participate in continuing education and professional development.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's Degree in a related field preferred.
• Current Florida Basic X-Ray Machine Operator (BXMO) certification required, or ability to obtain within a defined onboarding period.
• Certified or Registered Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA) preferred.
• Current CPR/BLS certification required.
• Minimum ofone year of clinical or diagnostic imaging experience preferred, ideally in an outpatient or primary care setting.
• Knowledge ofradiographic techniques, anatomy, patient positioning, and radiation safety protocols.
• Ability to safely operate and maintain basic diagnostic imaging equipment.
• Experience withElectronic Medical Records (EMR) systems and clinical documentation.
• Understanding ofinfection control, HIPAA, OSHA, and patient safety standards.
• Strong clinical, organizational, and time management skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment.
