Job summary

AdventHealth in Greenwood Village, CO is offering a 10-week fully paid Apprentice Program for aspiring Medical Assistants. You will learn in classroom settings, perform on‑the‑job tasks, and receive mentorship, with a start date around August 10, 2026 and an hourly rate of $21.00.

Selected candidates will gradually take on responsibilities and be prepared for continued opportunities within the organization as they complete the program.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1+ related work experience preferred.
• Enrolled in AHMG Medical Assistant training/apprenticeship program required.

Responsibilities

• 3 days per week – Attend classroom training for Medical Assistant skills.
• 2 days per week – Working in an assigned Clinic, assist with procedure setup and support the provider.
• Provide clerical and office support, including reception, telephone management, EMR documentation.
• Greet and room patients, ensuring clinic flow; support healthcare team under supervision.
• Develop competencies: patient rooming, vital signs, phlebotomy, venipuncture, EKG, EMR.

Job Description:

Selected candidates will complete a 10‑week fully paid Apprentice Program that combines classroom learning, on‑the‑job training, and mentorship.

Apprentices will gradually assume job responsibilities while receiving ongoing feedback and support. Program Start dates are scheduled at set times throughout the year. Next start date is August 10, 2026. Hourly Rate is $21.00/hour.

Successful completion of the program prepares individuals for continued employment opportunities within the organization!

3 days per week – Attend classroom training for Medical Assistant skills

2 days per week – Working in an assigned Clinic, under the guidance of a trainer, assist with procedure setup and provide support to the provider during procedures.

Provides clerical and office support, including reception, telephone management, and retrieval of medical information from various sources. Greets and rooms patients, ensuring a smooth flow within the clinic. Supports the healthcare team under the direct supervision of a clinical mentor and professional development team. Ensures accurate and timely EMR documentation of all skills performed.

Over time, will learn the following competencies:

• Phase I Competency: Patient rooming, vital signs, progressive competency based medical assistant apprentice under direct supervision of facility based clinical mentor and professional development and education team, EKG and EMR documentation skills.
• Phase II Competency: Collects point‑of‑care test samples, including urine, rapid strep, and influenza tests, and documents results in the EMR.
• Phase III Competency: Collects additional point‑of‑care test samples, such as HGB A1C, HGB/HCT, and PT/INR, and performs venipuncture and specimen collection, documenting all in the EMR.
• Phase IV Competency: Administers oral medications and documents the administration in the EMR.
