• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program that includes phlebotomy training.

• Certification as Medical Assistant or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the physician in providing comprehensive medical care in ambulatory settings.
• Prepare the patient for the medical examination.
• Perform rooming, screening activities and patient histories.
• Perform assigned clinical tasks and procedures.
• Set up patient for virtual visit and turnover room after visit.
• Serve as chaperone for exams if requested by patient.
• Assist with scheduling follow-up appointments and activities.
• Document all care in KP HealthConnect.
• Monitor flow of patients to minimize wait times.
• Administer medications per policy and the 5 rights.
• Performs basic diagnostic and laboratory tests and specimen collection per CLIA.
• Assist with routine patient education and self-care instructions.
