Job Description: Medical Assistant/Allergy Tech in ENT Clinic
As a Medical Assistant/Allergy Tech working in an Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) clinic, your responsibilities involve a combination of administrative and clinical tasks. Here's a detailed overview:
Administrative Duties
- Patient Scheduling: Schedule patient appointments, surgeries, and follow-up visits, ensuring efficient use of time slots and coordination with staff.
- Patient Registration: Greet patients, collect demographic and insurance information, and update EMRs accurately.
- Insurance Verification: Verify coverage, obtain authorizations, and assist with insurance inquiries.
- Medical Records Management: Maintain organized, up-to-date medical records, including filing and scanning.
- Billing and Coding: Assist with billing, including accurate coding for procedures and services.
- Supply Management: Monitor inventory levels, restock supplies, and coordinate orders.
- Communication: Facilitate communication between patients, physicians, and healthcare providers in person and via phone.
Clinical Duties
- Patient Preparation: Escort patients, obtain vital signs, and prepare for procedures.
- Allergy Testing: Perform skin testing and interpret results under physician supervision.
- Immunotherapy Administration: Administer allergy injections per protocols and safety guidelines.
- Patient Education: Educate on allergy triggers, medication use, and testing procedures.

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; medical assistant or allergy technician certification preferred.
- Certification as CMA or RMA required; additional allergy technician certifications desirable.
- Experience in medical settings, especially ENT or allergy clinics, advantageous.
- Skills include strong communication, attention to detail, multitasking, EMR proficiency, and medical terminology knowledge.
- MA License preferred.
