Job summary

Southern Careers Institute is seeking an instructor for our Medical Assistant program in Texas. You will share your knowledge and experience to positively impact students’ lives in a collaborative campus environment.

No prior teaching experience is required; we value healthcare expertise and the ability to connect with students. This role offers development opportunities, a supportive team, and a pathway to becoming an educator in a thriving SCI network.

Qualifications

• Registered or Certified Medical Assistant.
• 5+ years’ experience in medical back office; degree preferred.
• Current CPR certification.
• Meet TWC instructor requirements.
• Certifications: RMA, CMA, NCMA, or CCMA.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates and applies thorough knowledge of the teaching field and discipline.
• Plans and organizes instruction to maximize student learning; practice excellence in teaching.
• Modifies instructional methods to meet diverse students’ needs.
• Prepare lesson plans and teach course as prescribed by the institutional curriculum.
• Encourages development of communication skills and higher-order thinking through assignments.

• Prepare lesson plans and teach course as prescribed by the approved institutional curriculum;
• Encourages the development of communication skills and higher order thinking skills through appropriate assignments.

Requirements

• Registered or Certified Medical Assistant;
• 5+ years’ experience in medical back office, degree preferred;
• Current CPR certification;
• Previous teaching experience preferred;
• Certifications, Licenses, Registrations Requirements: RMA, CMA, NCMA, or CCMA;
• Meet TWC instructor requirements.
