Job summary

Platinum Dermatology Partners is seeking a Medical Assistant to join a fast-paced dermatology clinic in Gilbert, AZ. You will support physicians and providers by taking histories, preparing patients, and assisting with biopsies and cosmetic procedures.

Ideal candidates have 2–3 years in a medical office, with MA training and strong communication. Dermatology experience is preferred. Comprehensive benefits and a supportive team culture are offered.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Certified Medical Assistant preferred but not required.
• Medical Assistant training is required.
• 2–3 years of experience in a medical office as a medical assistant.
• Dermatology/cosmetic experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication with attention to detail.
• Excellent phone etiquette.
• Teamwork and professional appearance.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and follow provider instructions.
• Strong organizational skills in a fast-paced setting.
• Experience working with EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to exam rooms and prepare for examinations.
• Document complete medical histories and current medications.
• Assist physician in the room and scribe notes.
• Assist with biopsies, excisions, sutures and cosmetic procedures.
• Prepare/collect path and lab specimens and schedule follow-ups.
• Maintain clean, stocked exam rooms daily.
• Perform basic laboratory instrument cleaning/autoclaving.
• Handle other back-office duties as assigned.

Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks

• Escort patients to and from the exam room, preparing the patient for their examination.
• Enter complete medical histories along with patients’ current medications into the chart.
• Assist the Physician/Provider in the room by scribing the notes in the patient’s medical record.
• Assist with setting up biopsies, excisions, suture removals, and cosmetic procedures.
• Prepare and collect path/lab specimens, notify patients of results, and schedule follow-up appointments.
• Daily cleaning and organizing exam rooms, along with stocking the rooms.
• Laboratory maintenance that includes cleaning and autoclaving instruments.
• Other duties as assigned to the back office.

Qualifications: Education

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
• Certified Medical Assistant preferred but not required.
• Medical Assistant training is required.

Qualifications

• Must have 2-3years of experience working in a medical office as a medical assistant.
• Prior Dermatology and cosmetic experience is preferred.

Equipment Operated

Standard office equipment including computers, fax machines, copiers, printers, telephones, etc.

Physical Requirements

Must possess manual dexterity to operate office machines including computer and calculator; stooping and bending to handle files and supplies; and mobility to complete errands or deliveries. Includes handling of sharps and chemicals.
