Job summary

Geisinger in Scranton, PA is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinical teams in a busy outpatient setting. The role covers patient intake, rooming, vitals, specimen collection, basic procedures, and EMR documentation.

Candidates may be certified or non-certified CMA; pay is commensurate with experience. A $3,000 sign-on bonus for certified CMA's and $1,500 for non-certified CMA's, with stipulations.

Qualifications

• Certified Medical Assistant or non-certified CMA considered.
• Maintains patient safety, privacy, and supports clinical visits.
• Comfort with routine lab testing and basic procedures.

Responsibilities

• Document patient information using EMR rooming tool.
• Set up examination and treatment rooms between patients.
• Assist patients to prepare for visits and ensure safety and privacy.
• Provide direct patient care as directed (EKG, wound dressings, minor procedures).
• Prepare and administer medications per policy; may not IV.
• Collect samples and perform phlebotomy; support lab functions.
• Complete tests and treatments per order; document in records.
• Document in medical records; manage referrals and pre-authorizations.
• Collect co-payments; orient new personnel; communicate with provider.
