$19.00/hr - $25.00/hr

Position Summary:

The Medical Assistant (MA) plays a critical role in supporting veterans by facilitating high-quality, compassionate clinical care within the Veterans Benefits Administration Medical Disability Examination (VBA MDE) program. This position involves working in a multidisciplinary environment, supporting providers during medical evaluations that assist veterans in obtaining the benefits they have earned through their service.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Assist healthcare providers with medical disability examinations and ensure all documentation meets program requirements.
2. Perform clinical tasks including patient intake, vital signs, and preparation for physical examinations.
3. Conduct venipuncture and specimen collection when required by state regulation.
4. Ensure patient confidentiality and accurate data entry into electronic health records.
5. Maintain clinical equipment and exam rooms in compliance with infection control and safety protocols.
6. Travel between designated work locations as needed.

Qualifications:

1. Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), if required by state of employment; certification must remain active and in good standing.
2. Phlebotomy Certification from an accredited training program, as required by state regulations.
3. Current and valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
