Job summary

DeKalb Public Health is seeking a Medical Assistant (10239) at the T.O. Vinson Health Center in DeKalb County, GA.

Under general supervision, you will perform administrative and clinical duties, take vital signs, record medical histories, prepare patients for examination, and assist clinicians with procedures. Qualifications include an Associate degree in a related field with one year experience, or a HS diploma/GED with two years of medical assisting experience; bi-lingual a plus.

Two years of experience required at the lower level Medical Assistant 1 (HCT100) or position equivalent.

Assists in the clinic by taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients for examination, collecting specimens, assisting clinicians with procedures.

Job Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications

Associate degree in a related field from an accredited college or university with one (1) year experience in a related field;
High School diploma/GED and two 2 years of experience in medical assisting
Two (2) years of experience required at the lower level Medical Assistant 1 (HCT100) or position equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience in a medical office setting with excellent customer service skills, front and back-office job duties
Phlebotomy certification preferred
Public Health experience is a plus
Knowledge and usage of computers and Windows Software related programs
Bi-lingual a plus, Spanish preferred
