Job description

Equity Staffing Group is seeking a Bilingual Medical Assistant to join a healthcare team in El Paso, TX. This is a full-time, onsite opportunity for a certified Medical Assistant who is bilingual in English and Spanish and passionate about providing excellent patient care.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM

Work Setting: Onsite

Travel: None

Interview Process: In-person interview

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical support while following established medical procedures, protocols, and workflows.
• Obtain and accurately document patient vital signs.
• Perform and assist with EKGs, including recognizing and understanding EKG tracings within the Medical Assistant scope of practice.
• Communicate medical terminology and clinical information to patients in a clear and understandable manner.
• Assess patient understanding and answer questions regarding clinical services and care instructions.
• Follow appropriate precautions related to bloodborne pathogens, infection prevention, and other exposure risks.
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA, state and federal regulations, and established scope-of-practice guidelines.
• Follow company and department-specific policies, procedures, and workflows.
• Utilize EHR/EMR systems for patient records and documentation.
• Navigate scheduling, practice management, records management, and claims/billing systems as required.
• Provide excellent customer service to patients, families, providers, and team members.
• Communicate effectively with both English- and Spanish-speaking patients.

Required Qualifications

• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Current Medical Assistant Certification.
• Current BLS certification.
• Strong customer service and patient communication skills.
• Knowledge of EHR/EMR systems and healthcare-related computer applications.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Understanding of medical terminology, HIPAA requirements, safety precautions, and clinical workflows.
• Ability to effectively use scheduling, practice management, and records management systems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous hands-on Medical Assistant experience.
• Experience working in a busy clinical or medical office environment.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
