Job summary

Humanitary Medical Center is hiring a full-time Medical Assistant in Winter Haven, FL to support healthcare providers by handling vital signs, histories, exam prep and charting.

You will maintain patient records, schedule referrals, assist during exams, run basic labs, and help with medications while upholding confidentiality and fast-paced clinic standards. Spanish bilingual abilities and CMA/RMA certification preferred; EHR proficiency a must.

Qualifications

Summary

Humanitary Medical Center is hiring a full-time Medical Assistant. The Medical Assistant plays a critical role in supporting healthcare providers by ensuring smooth and efficient clinical operations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examination by taking vital signs, medical histories, and recording symptoms.
• Assist healthcare providers during examinations and minor procedures by handling instruments and supplies.
• Manage patient records accurately, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with healthcare regulations.
• Schedule patient appointments, follow up on referrals, and coordinate communication between patients and medical staff.
• Perform basic laboratory tests, administer medications as directed, and maintain clinical equipment and supplies.
• All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum 2+ years of experience within the healthcare medical center industry.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program.
• Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred.
• Basic life support (BLS) certification.
• Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems. preferably MD Vita.
• Previous experience working in a clinical setting, preferably in a primary care or community health environment.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures.
• Bilingual abilities, especially in Spanish, to better serve the local community.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with diverse patient populations.
