Job summary

Waianae Coast Comprehensive Health Center is seeking a Medical Assistant for a Full Time role at the Waianae, HI campus. The MA works under the Clinic Operations Manager to deliver patient care with a team of professionals in a PCMH-based setting.

Requirements include a high school diploma, completed Medical Assistant program (or higher within 3 years), CMA/RMA certification, and current BLS/BCLS. Experience preferred but new graduates may be trained.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of accredited Medical Assistant program required; if higher (LPN or BSN), completion must occur within 3 years of applying for MA position.
• Current CMA or RMA certification required.
• Current BLS/BCLS certification required. Must meet AHA guidelines.

Responsibilities

• The MA, under supervision of the Clinic Operations Manager, performs a variety of duties as part of a multidisciplinary health care team.
• Delivers patient care within the Patient Centered Medical Home framework and supports proactive team-based care.
• Assists with population management and high-quality primary care delivery.

Salary Range: $22.00 To $22.00 Hourly

POSITION SUMMARY:

The MA, under the supervision of the Clinic Operations Manager, is responsible for performing a variety of duties while working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary health care team to deliver optimal patient care services and manage care within the framework of Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH). The MA maintains an enhanced role within this model of care that promotes concepts of proactive team-based care, population management and principles of PCMH to develop a highly functional primary care workforce to provide higher quality care to a larger population.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• 1. High School Diploma or equivalent education required
• 2. Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program or greater required. If greater (LPN or BSN), completion of program must occur within 3 years of applying for MA position
• 3. Current CMA or RMA certification or greater required
• 4. Current BLS/BCLS certification required. Needs to be approved following AHA guidelines. Online certification acceptable if hands-on training completed and documentation can be provided to support (email from instructor, class roster or expired AHA BLS/BCLS card)
• 5. One year medical experience in a physician’s office or equivalent combination of training and experience preferred; will train a highly-motivated new graduate
