Job summary

Columbus Aesthetic & Plastic Surgery is seeking a Medical Assistant for multi-site support across Central Ohio. This full-time clinical role involves assisting physicians, taking vitals, preparing rooms, and supporting with biopsies and procedures, while educating patients on treatment plans and medications.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of Medical Assistant experience, phlebotomy skills, and strong communication across diverse patient populations.

Job Summary

This is a full-time Clinical Support role supporting clinical operations across our Central Ohio locations, with a schedule that will vary based on operational needs and the flexibility to float to any of our Central Columbus locations to support patient care.

The role is responsible for assisting physicians with patient care, including taking vital signs, obtaining patient history and chief complaint, and assisting with biopsies and select surgical procedures. Additional responsibilities include educating patients on treatment plans and medications, performing nursing procedures such as suture removal and dressing changes, and providing clerical support related to patient services.

Ideal Candidate
  • Required: Minimum 1–2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant in an office or clinical setting
  • Required: 1-2 years of experience, with prior phlebotomy/blood draw experience
  • Passionate about wellness, preventative, and lifestyle medicine
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, comfortable interacting with diverse patient populations
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Prepare exam and treatment rooms for daily operations, opening, and closing.
  • Assist with insurance preauthorization's and communicate updates to patients.
  • Escort patients, obtain vitals, short histories, and update medication lists.
  • Set up exam rooms according to scheduled or anticipated procedures.
  • Assist physicians with biopsies, surgical procedures, and other clinical needs.
  • Schedule surgeries and prepare insurance and surgical packets.
  • Complete disability forms within established timeframes.
  • Maintain inventory, track expiration dates, and order supplies and drugs.
  • Prepare specimens for laboratory pick-up and complete all related documentation.
  • Educate patients on treatment plans, medications, and compliance requirements.
  • Perform nursing procedures, including suture removal, dressing changes, and phlebotomy.
  • Accurately complete all pathology and lab requisition documents.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of exam rooms.

$20 - $24 per hour, based on experience relevant to the role
