Job summary

Presbyterian Northside in Albuquerque, NM is seeking Medical Assistant I or II to support providers and the clinical team in delivering compassionate, patient-centered care within a welcoming clinic environment.

You will work with EPIC electronic charting, on-site support, and participate in ongoing growth opportunities while benefiting from a comprehensive staff program and career development options.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS certification required or obtained.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for performing medical assistant procedures after completion of competency within organizations MA scope of work, under the supervision of a provider and PHS policy.
• Assists with procedures as determined by provider.
• Collecting and preparing laboratory specimens.
• Basic foot care.
• May perform regulatory audits as designated by the Clinic Manager.
• Assists with visit closure.
• Participates with care team to meet patient care and clinic needs, working cooperatively with others to accomplish required work in a timely and efficient manner.
• May perform scribe duties after completing PMG scribe training.

Qualifications:

• Prior Healthcare experience preferred
• Successful completion of Presbyterian MA Advanced Skills Training within 12 months of hire
• BLS (AHA, Red Cross or ASHI Healthcare Provider) required
• Maintains current certifications in required emergency response trainings (i.e. BLS)
• Completes all Organizational, Department of Nursing and Department-Specific competency training/requirements within specified timeframe
