Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Greets and assists consumers and agencies in person and over the telephone.
• Performs data entry and accesses NOMS as delegated.
• Obtains patient vitals and history.
• Enters information into Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
• Orders Lab and diagnostic studies and makes referrals.
• Coordinates with Residential Care Facility owners for continuity of care.
• Schedules with clinic receptionists and coordinates appointments.
• Performs phlebotomy for patient lab needs.
• Assists Medical Team and checks in medication/written scripts.
• Fills out updated pharmacy order forms (PAP forms) and sends schedules to pharmacy.
• Processes eligibility for benefits and releases medical records when needed.
• Attends staff meetings and travels as required.
• Maintains regular and punctual attendance and professional conduct.
• Demonstrates cooperative communication with clients, staff and management.

Description

DEFINITION:

Employees assigned to positions in this class are placed under supervision where the work assignments are well detailed and well prescribed by the supervisor. The Department Head for this position is the Medical Programs Administrator. This position is immediately supervised by the Integrative Services Administrator.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and at least two (2) years experience as a previous medical assistant. CMA/RMA (Certified/Registered Medical Assistant) preferred. Must be able to perform in data entry and possess knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Applications.

An expectation of core competencies in relation to individuals with co-occurring disorders.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible and immediately supervised by the Integrative Services Administrator.

This position is responsible and held accountable for the following duties:

• Greets and assists consumers, other agencies in person and over telephone with good judgment as to their needs.
• Assists with data entry, NOMS and obtaining data as delegated by Integrated Health Services Administrator.
• Obtains patient vitals and history.
• Entry into Electronic Medical Record.
• Orders Lab, diagnostic studies and makes referrals.
• Assists with necessary communication to Residential Care Facility owners for continuation of care.
• Confers with clinic receptionists scheduling needs/appointments.
• Performs phlebotomy for patient lab needs.
• Assists Medical Team.
• Assist in checking in medication/written scripts as needed; assisting in returning outdated meds to administration.
• Fill out updated pharmacy order forms (PAP forms).
• Send schedules to pharmacy daily.
• Process benefits for eligibility.
• Processes medical records received and released, if necessary.
• Performs other reasonably related duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor or other management as requested.
• Participates in staff meetings as needed.
• Must be willing and able to perform all job-related travel normally associated with this position.
• Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job requirement.
• Must meet “satisfactory” expectations at any scheduled job performance evaluation.
• Quality of work will be evaluated through training, skill, or special purpose. Must be competent and adequate.
