Job summary

Florida Orthopaedic Institute (FOI) in Trinity Oaks, Trinity, FL is seeking a Medical Assistant to support a provider in a fast-paced orthopedic clinic. This full-time role focuses on exams, procedures, and patient education to ensure a smooth visit.

You will prepare exam rooms, take vital signs, document in Athena EMR, assist with injections and dressings, and help patients understand aftercare. A reliable team player who communicates well will thrive in FOI's collaborative environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
  • Reliable transportation and flexibility to travel locally for training/coverage.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare exam rooms and ensure they are fully stocked and organized for the day.
  • Escort patients to rooms, take vital signs, and update the EMR with accurate documentation.
  • Assist with in‑office procedures including injections, dressing changes, and suture removals.
  • Support the provider during exams by anticipating needs and maintaining patient comfort.
  • Educate patients on post‑visit instructions and coordinate follow‑ups as directed.
  • Collaborate with fellow CAs, providers, and administrative staff to keep the clinic running smoothly.
  • Communicate clearly with patients and teammates to reduce delays and confusion.
  • Float to nearby clinics as needed to support staffing coverage and team success.
  • Ensure timely, accurate charting and quality measure completion in Athena EMR.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA standards.
  • Participate in training, team huddles, and clinic initiatives as assigned.

Education

Responsibilities
Clinical Support

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent (required)
  • BLS certification (required within 90 days of hire and FOI offers in‑house training)

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in orthopedics, trauma, or high‑volume clinical settings
  • Familiarity with Athena EMR or similar systems
  • Prior experience assisting with procedures such as injections or suture removal
