Overview
Position: Medical Assistant at Florida Orthopaedic Institute (FOI). Location: Trinity Oaks, Trinity, FL. This full-time role supports a provider to deliver efficient, high-quality orthopedic care in a fast-paced clinical environment. You will assist with exams, procedures, and patient education while ensuring patients feel supported throughout their visit.
Responsibilities
Clinical Support
- Prepare exam rooms and ensure they are fully stocked and organized for the day
- Escort patients to rooms, take vital signs, and update the EMR with accurate documentation
- Assist with in‑office procedures including injections, dressing changes, and suture removals
- Support the provider during exams by anticipating needs and maintaining patient comfort
- Educate patients on post‑visit instructions and coordinate follow‑ups as directed
Patient Flow & Teamwork
- Collaborate with fellow CAs, providers, and administrative staff to keep the clinic running smoothly
- Communicate clearly with patients and teammates to reduce delays and confusion
- Float to nearby clinics as needed to support staffing coverage and team success
Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure timely, accurate charting and quality measure completion in Athena EMR
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA standards
- Participate in training, team huddles, and clinic initiatives as assigned

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- BLS certification (required within 90 days of hire and FOI offers in‑house training)
- Reliable transportation and flexibility to travel locally for training/coverage
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in orthopedics, trauma, or high‑volume clinical settings
- Familiarity with Athena EMR or similar systems
- Prior experience assisting with procedures such as injections or suture removal
