Job summary

River Valley Health is seeking a Medical Assistant for a Regular Full Time role in Knoxville, TN. The position supports clinical operations, measures vital signs, collects samples, and coordinates tests with providers.

The schedule is Monday to Friday 8:00am–5:00pm with no weekends or nights, and a comprehensive benefits package with PTO is offered. Certification/Registration is required; prior medical office experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certified or Registered Medical Assistant.
• Experience in medical office, clinic, or hospital setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Escorts patients throughout facility, interviews patients to obtain medical information/history, and measures vital signs.
• Obtains samples and performs inhouse CLIA approved testing upon medical provider’s request when needed.
• Administers routine diagnostic test or calls medical facility or department to schedule patients for tests.
• Reviews provider’s orders, lab requests, or any other follow-up needs with patient, including scheduling of additional tests.
• Obtains pre-certifications from insurance providers for special procedures when needed.

Key Responsibilities:
