LewisGale Physicians Gen Surg/ID/Vasc Surgery in Salem, VA is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to support patient intake, exam prep, and minor procedures. Monday through Friday, days only, with no nights, weekends, or holidays.

You will take histories and vitals, prep rooms, assist with injections and phlebotomy, and support physicians with minor surgeries. Certification is required, with options accepted; experienced candidates encouraged.

Formación

• One year of Medical Assisting or other direct clinical patient care experience in a healthcare setting.
• Medical Assistant Certification is required. Acceptable certifications are RMA, CCMA, CMA, NCMA, NRCMA certification, or ABR-OE credentials is acceptable.
• Medical Assistants who recently graduated (within the last 12 months) from a Medical Assisting training program must obtain Medical Assistant certification within 60 days of employment. OR Candidates/incumbents with one year of Medical Assistant work experience who do not possess Medical Assistant Certification must obtain Medical Assistant Certification within one year of hire date.

• You will give injections and assist with lab testing and phlebotomy

• You will answer telephone calls to the practice and screens for referral
