Job summary

Pinnacle Treatment Centers, Inc. is seeking a Full-Time Medical Assistant in Roseville, CA. You will support intake, perform clinical duties, and help coordinate patient care in a sensitive behavioral health setting.

The role requires a medical assisting credential or EMT certification, plus competency in vital signs, sample collection, and basic lab coordination. Competitive wages and an benefits package are provided.

Qualifications

• Must have a current medical assistant certificate or EMT certificate from an accredited program.
• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience as a medical assistant.
• Must maintain continuing education credits as required by the state.
• Ability to administer medications.
• CPR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Works as part of the intake team to see patients promptly.
• Observe urine samples for screens and package for lab confirmation.
• Obtain vital signs and report findings to nurse.
• Obtain blood samples for testing and package for laboratory.
• Communicate information to leadership regarding patients and the facility.
• Schedule appointments with physicians, counselors, and case managers.
• May handle cash collection and daily balancing.
• May manage accounts receivable/payable/deposits.
• Maintain security and logbooks; monitor visitors.
• Coordinate patient appointments and record PDMP data.
• Maintain medical records in the EHR and required software.

As a Medical Assistant, you will administer and coordinate medical services necessary while creating a positive patient experience within the facility. You will be responsible for performing routine administrative and clinical responsibilities.

Pay Range

• $17.50/per hour to $19.50/per hour

Requirements

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must possess a current medical assistant certificate or emergency medical technician certificate from an accredited teaching school and/or provide transcripts.
• Experience as a medical assistant.
• Must maintain continuing education credits as required by the state employed.
• Ability to administer medications.

Preferred

• Graduation of a post-secondary medical assisting education program accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. Current certification from the Certifying Board of the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), or registration from the American Medical Technologists (AMT), or the National Center for Competency Training (NCCT), or any recognized certifying body approved by the Board.
• CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant), RMA (Registered Medical Assistant).
• Two (2) years’ experience or knowledge in the field of behavioral health recommended.
• Experience performing blood draws.
• CPR (Cardiopulmonary resuscitation) Certification.

Responsibilities

• Works as part of the intake team to ensure patients are seen promptly.
• Observe urine samples for urine drug screens, test onsite and package for laboratory for confirmation testing.
• Obtain vital signs and report findings to nurse when needed.
• Obtain blood samples for standard blood testing onsite and package for the laboratory.
• Communicate all relevant information to the leadership team regarding patients and the facility.
• Make appointments for patients to see physicians, counselors, and case managers, and provide lab work and referrals for additional follow-up care.
• May be responsible for cash collection and daily balancing.
• May be responsible for managing accounts receivable/accounts payable/ deposits.
• Maintain security by following procedures, monitoring logbook, checking in visitors, etc.
• May be responsible for coordinating appointments for patients.
• May be responsible for running the PDMP for all patients as well as recording patient information at intake in the Central Registry for that State.
• Maintain and keep updated all medical records and documentation pertaining to the patients in the EHR as well as in any lab required software programs.
• May be responsible for dropping off lab work at a UPS drop off location if the driver does not come in to pick up that day.
