POSITION SUMMARY:
A non-exempt position responsible for performing a variety of duties including assisting providers with patient care and handling clerical, environmental, and organizational tasks. Provides information to patients to help them fully utilize and benefit from clinical services offered.
Supervision Exercised:
This position has no supervising duties.
Supervision Received:
Reports to the Director of Nursing, Chief Medical Officer, or other designated medical provider.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Patient care responsibilities: Checking provider schedules, organizing patient flow, assisting patients with walking transfers, dressing, preparing for exams, collecting patient history, performing screenings, assisting with procedures, relaying information, and answering calls.
- Clerical responsibilities: Sending/receiving medical records, obtaining lab/X-ray reports, hospital notes, referral information, completing forms, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance and patient demographics.
- Environmental responsibilities: Setting up instruments and equipment, cleaning rooms and instruments between visits, and restocking supplies.
- Organizational responsibilities: Respecting/promoting patient rights, responding to emergency codes, sharing concerns with supervisors.
- Other duties as assigned.
