  • Job Summary:
    
    
    
    • Responsible for performing clinical duties assisting clinicians with the examination and treatment of patients under provider supervision in the ambulatory service clinical setting. Duties include pre-visit chart preparation; assisting providers with procedures/treatments; equipment operation; assisting patients; performing venipuncture (as needed), specimen collection and submission to appropriate laboratory; cleaning and sterilization of instrumentation; maintenance, order and inventory supplies; records and documents in medical record. Assists with efficient patient flow; performs administrative clinical support activities; participates in quality assurance programs.

    • High School diploma or GED; some college preferred
    
    
    
    
  
  
  • Registration/Certification/Licensure:
    
    
    
    • Active Basic Life Support certification required or obtained within 30 days of hire.
    
    
    
    
  
  
  • Experience:
    
    
    
    • Position requires at least 6 months of medical office experience, with direct patient contact experience, and use of electronic medical records (EMR) preferred.
    
    
    • Phlebotomy and point of care testing experience is a plus.

    • Requires an awareness of patient confidentiality and ability to follow directions well, be engaged and work with minimal guidance.
    
    
    • Knowledge of insurance billing procedures and familiarization of medical terminology.
