Position Overview

We are looking for Medical Assistants to join our team at Steel City South Pediatrics. This role is ideal for candidates who are passionate about working with children and committed to delivering high-quality healthcare. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in patient care and administrative support, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations within the practice. You’ll work closely with pediatricians and nursing staff, contributing to the positive patient experience for children and their families.

What You’ll Do
  • Patient Interaction & Support: Welcome and prepare patients for exams by measuring vital signs, recording medical history, and addressing any initial concerns.
  • Clinical Support: Assist healthcare providers with medical procedures such as vaccinations, specimen collection, and basic diagnostic tests.
  • Administrative Duties: Manage patient scheduling, answer phone calls, and handle insurance verification and eligibility checks.
  • Electronic Health Records (EHR): Document patient information in the EHR system accurately and efficiently.
  • Inventory & Supplies Management: Monitor medical supplies and equipment, ensuring the exam rooms are always prepared.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with pediatricians, nurses, and the administrative team to ensure an excellent patient experience.
  • Patient Education: Provide families with basic information on care instructions, immunizations, and wellness practices.
What We’re Looking For
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Experience working in pediatrics or a healthcare setting is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with children and their families.
  • Proficiency with EHR systems
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail in both clinical and administrative tasks.
  • CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
  • A positive attitude, team-oriented mindset, and passion for patient care.
