UPMC GoHealth Urgent Care in Hermitage, PA is seeking a Medical Assistant to support exam procedures, register patients, and measure vital signs under the supervision of an urgent care provider.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; MA program preferred.
• BLS certification required at time of hire.
• CCMA, CMA, CMA-AAMA, RMA or equivalent certification within 15 months.
• Experience in medical front desk and patient registration helpful.

Responsibilities

• Register patients, verify insurance and eligibility.
• Take vitals, interview patients, and assist with examinations.
• Draw blood specimens and prepare rooms for procedures.
• Manage charts, orders and ensure supplies are stocked.
• Answer calls, schedule appointments and support providers.

Manages the check-in and registration process, interview patients, measures vital signs (i.e., pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height), and records information on patients' charts. Draws and collects blood samples from patients and prepares specimens for laboratory analysis.
