Job summary

Dignity Health's Pacific Central Coast Health Centers seeks a Medical Assistant to keep daily operations running smoothly for patients and the clinical team.

You will proactively prepare patient charts, ensure information is up-to-date, and support providers with exam preparation and patient flow in a busy clinic.

Qualifications

• Must have completed a medical assistant training program.
• Basic Life Support - CPR, within 90 Days.
• Certified/Registered Medical Assistant preferred.

Responsibilities

• Patient and Exam Room Preparation and setup for each visit.
• Maintain exam rooms, keep supplies stocked, and ensure cleanliness.
• Prepare patients physically and psychologically for treatment/ examinations.
• Take vital signs and record in progress notes.
• Perform vision and hearing tests and document results.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Medical Assistant, you'll keep the day running smoothly and efficiently for your patients and clinical team.

Every day, you will take the lead on proactively preparing patient charts, ensuring all information is obtained and up-to-date for those seen in our facility. You can expect to have multiple patients daily depending on the number of physicians are on-site.

Your success in this role comes from your enthusiasm to help others, work efficiently, and your empathy for our patients.

• Patient and Exam Room Preparation
• Maintain the exam rooms assuring that they are clean and well stocked with the necessary supplies, medical instruments are washed and rinsed by hand and dried in the morning and returned to the exam rooms before the arrival of the first patients.
• Prepares the exam rooms for the reception of the patient and according to the needs of the provider and the exam to be performed.
• Prepares patients both physically and psychologically for treatment and examinations.
• Takes patient vital signs including temperature, blood pressures, pulse, respirations. weight and height and records these findings on the clinicians progress notes.
• Performs vision and hearing tests for all patients as required and records the results on the progress notes.

Job Requirements

Required

• Must have completed a medical assistant training program.
• Basic Life Support - CPR, within 90 Days

Preferred

• Certified/Registered Medical Assistant preferred.
• 1-3 years medical assistant experience preferred.
• Experience preferred in area of clinic specialty.
