Job summary

Blue Cloud, the largest pediatric Ambulatory Surgery Center network, is hiring a Medical Assistant on a PRN basis. Join a close-knit team of clinicians in a fast-paced ASC setting delivering pediatric and special needs care under general anesthesia.

You will support nursing staff, keep peri-operative areas stocked and orderly, document vitals, and help escort patients throughout the preoperative and recovery process.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; graduate of an approved Medical Assistant program.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Bi-lingual in Spanish and English.

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff in maintaining patient flow in peri-operative and PACU areas.
• Keep PACU and preoperative areas stocked and clean with essential equipment.
• Escort patients to preoperative and recovery areas and document vitals in the chart.
• Escort families to discharge and ensure smooth transitions.

ABOUT YOU

You have an exceptional work ethic, positive attitude, and strong commitment to providing excellent care to our patients. You enjoy working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, and you desire to contribute to a strong culture where the entire team works together for the good of each patient.

YOU WILL

• Assist the nursing staff in maintaining the flow of patients and families through the peri-operative area, and even more so in the PACU
• Be responsible for keeping these areas stocked and clean so all essential equipment for patient care is readily available and orderly
• Escort patients to the preoperative area and obtain patient’s medical history, measure vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and document all information in patient’s chart
• Escort families to the recovery unit when the nurse requests them, and escort patient and family to their vehicle/elevator upon discharge

YOU HAVE

Requirements + Qualifications

• High school diploma/equivalent or graduate of an approved Medical Assistant program
• Current American Heart Association issued Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Bi-Lingual (Spanish/English)

Preferred

• Pediatric or surgery experience preferred
• Minimum of one-year experience as a Medical Assistant
