Job summary

Premier Cardiovascular Consultants is seeking a Medical Assistant to support the medical staff across multiple Metro Detroit locations. The role requires excellent communication, strong organizational skills, and a customer service mindset to assist with both medical and administrative tasks.

The ideal candidate will have experience with EMR systems, a High School Diploma (Medical Assistant Diploma preferred) or equivalent, and be a team player who can multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Must have a High School Diploma or Medical Assistant Diploma (preferred) or 2 years of experience.
  • Medical staff support with strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Experience with EMR systems and patient record management.

Responsibilities

  • Performs duties to assist medical staff in serving patients.
  • Schedule patient appointments following guidelines and protocols.
  • Prepare exam rooms and record vitals in EMR.
  • PerformEKGs and blood draws as needed.
  • Assign patients to exam rooms and provide status updates.
  • Review charts ensuring test results and documents are present before examination.
  • Ensure cleanliness of equipment, instruments, and exam rooms.
  • Assist with venous insufficiency procedures and dispose of bio-hazard materials.
  • Complete forms for providers and assist with prescription calls or submissions.
  • Provide front desk support and handle phone triage.

We have multiple locations in the Metro Detroit area. Our main office is located in Troy, MI. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys being around others and able to multi-task.

The Medical Assistant will be responsible for a variety of medical and administrative related tasks. This position requires excellent communication skills, strong organizational skills, and is customer service driven. Qualified candidates must be self-motivated, well organized, a team player with a positive attitude, and have experience with EMR systems.

Essential Position Function And Duties But Not Limited To
  • Performs all duties necessary to assist the medical staff in serving patients
  • Schedule patient appointments following established guidelines and protocols set by administrative standards
  • Prepares exam rooms
  • Assess and record patient's complete vitals signs & past medical history in EMR system
  • Perform EKGS
  • Perform blood draws
  • Assign patient to exam rooms and provide a status checks periodically (when necessary)
  • Retrieves/reviews patient charts insuring all test results, labs, or other documentation is included in the chart prior to the patient seeing the provider for examination
  • Insures medical equipment, instruments, and exam rooms are cleaned/sanitized prior to each use
  • Assist with venous insufficiency procedures as needed
  • Insure all bio-hazard equipment, instruments, materials, PPE, etc. are properly disposed of
  • Completes any necessary forms for the providers to review and completes follow-up; such as prescription call-in or submission for the patient
  • Assist Front Desk coverage as needed and directed by medical staff and management
  • Answer phone calls and assist with phone triage
  • Performs other functions as determined by the medical staff

  • Treats guests, patients, physicians, and other employees with care, courtesy, and respect
  • Responds quickly and appropriately to customer request
  • Looks for and suggests ways to better meet customer needs
  • Answers clinic communications systems promptly and with courtesy and respect
TEAMWORK
  • Works cooperatively within own department and other areas
  • Willingly accepts additional responsibility – demonstrates cooperation at all times
  • Responds quickly to request for assistance from provider, co-worker and/or management staff
  • Required to work closely with patients and associates
  • Interacts with other departments on problem solving efforts
  • Accepts feedback from patients, visitors, clinic employees, physicians and general public
Education & Experience
  • High School Diploma
  • Medical Assistant Diploma (Preferred) or 2 years of experience
  • BLS Certification
  • Proficient with EMR systems

  • Monday- Friday; some Saturdays
LOCATIONS- ON SITE ONLY
