Job summary

MD Now urgent care, affiliated with HCA Healthcare, seeks a Clinical Medical Assistant to support patient care and exam readiness. You will take histories, vital signs, and prepare rooms, while assisting with injections and phlebotomy to ensure efficient visits.

The role requires graduation from an accredited Medical Assisting program; AAMA certification is helpful, and travel between MD Now locations in the area is preferred. We offer a supportive team and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience in a clinical patient setting is preferred.
• Experience using an EHR system is very helpful.
• Graduate of an accredited school of Medical Assisting or completion of an approved program (BOTP).
• Certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) is helpful.
• Ability to obtain Federal Breath Alcohol Screening and Federal Drug Screening within 30 days.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support within 30 days of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examination by taking histories and vital signs.
• Prepare exam and treatment rooms with instruments and supplies.
• Give injections and assist with lab testing and phlebotomy needs.
• Assist physicians with splints, dressings, and bandages.
• Assist with transfers and scheduling follow-up care.
• Coordinate patient physicals and workplace injuries for partner accounts.
• Screen calls for referral to physicians and practitioners.
• Willing to travel/float between MD Now locations within assigned area.

Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Medical Assistant, you will:

• Prepare patients for examination and treatment by taking patient histories and vital signs
• Prepare exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments for your patients including preparation and maintenance of supplies and equipment for treatments, including sterilization
• Give injections, and assist with lab testing and phlebotomy needs
• Assist physicians in applying splints, dressings, and bandages
• Assist with transfers and scheduling of follow-up care
• Coordinate patient physicals and work place injuries for partner accounts
• Screen incoming calls for referral to physicians and practitioners
• Willing to travel/float between all MD Now locations within assigned Area preferred

You Should Have:

• 1+ year of experience in a clinical patient setting is preferred
• Experience using an EHR system is very helpful
• Graduate of an accredited school of Medical Assisting or completion of an approved program (BOTP) is required
• Certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) is helpful
