Job summary

Tennessee Oncology is seeking a clinical Medical Assistant to provide direct, safe patient care throughout treatment under the supervision of providers and nurses. You will support rooming, vitals, medication checks, and EMR updates to ensure accurate, timely records.

The role requires a High School diploma or MA training, certification preferred, and BLS within 3 months. You will assist with procedures, patient education, lab specimen collection, and coordination with front office for referrals

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of Medical Assistant program or 6 months MA experience.
• Medical Assistant Certification preferred.
• Current BLS provider card within 3 months of hire.
• Ability to work in fast-paced clinical setting.

Responsibilities

Screens for and documents pain, distress, clinical depression scores required for each patient visitCompletes “rooming” process including escorting patient to exam roomReviews/verifies medication lists and preferred pharmacy information with patient for accuracy and enters/ updates information in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) at each encounterReviews/verifies patient allergies and updates in EMR at each encounterReviews health histories and other assigned historical information with the patient since the last visit and updates in the EMR at each encounter.Completes all required screening questionnaires and enters data in the EMRPrepares patients for examination and or treatment assuring rooms/chairs are turned over in a manner that promotes efficient provider workflow and patient through putReviews need for prescriptions/refills at each encounter. Manages prescription refill extension requests per Tennessee Oncology (TO) policy, procedure, standards.
