Job summary

Balance Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support daily operations in a clinical setting. You will be cross‑trained to assist both in clinical tasks and at the front desk, ensuring smooth and efficient workflow and clear communication between patients and providers.

Responsibilities include interviewing patients, scheduling, updating records, arranging admissions and lab services, and handling correspondence.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Completion of an approved medical assistant program or equivalent training.
  • Current CPR certification preferred.
  • Experience using EMR systems.
  • Experience as medical secretary or medical assistant.
  • Strong multi-tasking and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Knowledge of medical office management systems.

Responsibilities

  • Interview patients and document basic medical history.
  • Organize and schedule appointments.
  • Update and file medical records and insurance reports.
  • Arrange hospital admissions and laboratory services.
  • Assist during medical examinations.
  • Produce and distribute memos, letters, faxes and forms.
  • Handle receivable and payable accounts and keep financial records.
  • Prepare and clean treatment rooms and instruments.
  • Check with patients and type up patient charts.
