Ascension Saint Thomas Urgent Care in Mt. Juliet, TN is seeking experienced Medical Assistants to join our team.

The Medical Assistant provides clinical care in urgent care, occupational health, and workers’ compensation settings, including initial evaluations, x-ray testing, and preparing patients for provider evaluation by recording histories and vital signs. Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• BLS Certification is required.
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) is preferred.
• Experience performing X-Rays is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients promptly and communicate next steps and wait times.
• Assist with patient transfers, procedures, and lab work under provider supervision.
• Complete visit documentation and maintain exam rooms.
• Perform X-Rays with proper positioning and radiation safety.
• Accurately document vital signs, histories, medications, and allergies.
• Adhere to infection control and patient confidentiality standards.

Ascension Saint Thomas Urgent Care is looking for experienced Medical Assistants to join our team in the Mt. Juliet, TN.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Medical Assistant provides clinical care to patients in urgent care, occupational health, and workers’ compensation settings. Responsibilities include initial evaluations, x-ray testing, and preparing patients for provider evaluation by recording histories, vital signs, and documentation while recognizing acuity levels for appropriate intervention.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The following duties and responsibilities generally reflect the expectations of this position but are not intended to be all inclusive. Other duties may be assigned.

• Greet patients promptly and provide clear communication about next steps and wait times
• Offer solutions to patient concerns and seek help in emergent or hazardous situations
• Ensure timely follow-up for lab and x-ray results; execute follow-up calls with urgency
• Support front desk staff with check-in and check-out procedures when needed
• Accurately document vital signs, histories, medications, allergies, and other pertinent details
• Assist with patient transfers, procedures, and lab work under provider supervision
• Prepare and shoot X-Rays, ensuring proper positioning, safety, radiation protection, and shielding
• Complete all required visit documentation and maintain stocked, clean exam rooms
• Adhere to infection control, safety, and patient confidentiality standards
• Perform phlebotomy, injections, and other clinical procedures as trained and directed

WHAT'S THE SCHEDULE?

Full-time team memberswork a rotating 36-40 hour/week schedule, consisting of 12-hour weekday shifts and every-other weekend. Our PRN (per diem) team members are scheduled on an as-needed basis.

WHAT'S REQUIRED?
