Allina Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support providers and the nursing staff across patient care activities. The role involves rooming patients, administering medications, and assisting with specimen handling within a 7-hour shift structure.

You will contribute to efficient patient flow and EMR documentation. The ideal candidate has completed a Medical Assistant program, with current BLS certification and a willingness to cover front desk tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• Must have completed a Medical Assistant program or equivalent healthcare education.
• Current BLS certification from AHA, ARC, or in-house program within 30 days of hire.
• Experience in patient care and basic clinical tasks preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and manage patient flow, ensuring efficient clinic operations.
• Administer medications and provide psycho-emotional support as needed.
• Assist with specimen collection, labeling, and processing.
• Work with EMR to document and respond to messages as delegated.
• Provide front desk backup for patient registration/scheduling when needed.
• Perform injections and assist with procedures as directed by RN/Provider.
• Reinforce patient education and coordinate test results with providers.
