Job summary

Henry Ford Health is seeking a Medical Assistant for the Otolaryngology department at West Bloomfield. The team supports providers and nurses to deliver compassionate, efficient patient care in a surgical specialty setting.

This role requires completing a MA program with externship or equivalent experience, and may include opportunities to work with EPIC Electronic Medical Records. Use strong clinical skills to ensure a smooth patient flow.

Qualifications

• Graduate of Medical Assistant program with a formal clinical externship (160 hours).
• Program graduation with externship; or 1 year clinical medical assisting exp. in past 5 years.
• Current MA certification with 5+ years of clinical medical assisting; OR LPN licensure.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Graduate of a Medical Assistant program with completion of a formal clinical externship (160-hour minimum), or equivalent experience as outlined in the job description.
• Graduate of a Medical Assistant program with completion of a formal clinical externship (160 hour minimum).
• Graduate from a Medical Assistant program without completion of a clinical externship but with a minimum one-year experience in clinical medical assisting within the past five (5) years.
• Current Professionally Recognized Medical Assistant Certification with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in clinical medical assisting. OR Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
• Licensed Paramedic/Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with at least one-year clinical experience in clinical medical setting within the past five (5) years.
• Military trained medical personnel with at least one-year clinical experience in clinical medical setting within the past five (5) years.
• Current BLS-C certification upon hire or successful completion by the end of orientation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills.
• EPIC (Electronic Medical Record) experience.
