American Family Care in Memphis, TN is seeking a Full-Time Medical Assistant for a fast-paced, team-driven AFC Urgent Care clinic. You will be involved in patient care from intake to discharge and support the full clinic flow.

The role requires urgency, accuracy, and strong teamwork. Certification as a Medical Assistant is preferred; experience in urgent care or busy outpatient settings is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Certified Medical Assistant preferred (AAMA, AMT, or equivalent).
• 1+ year experience in urgent care, ER, or busy outpatient setting preferred.
• Comfortable with phlebotomy and lab work.

Responsibilities

• Room patients, obtain vitals, medical history and reason for visit.
• Assist providers with exams, procedures, and treatments.
• Perform point-of-care testing (strep, flu, COVID, UA, etc.).
• Draw blood and process labs (in-house and reference lab).
• Administer medications and injections per protocol.
• Perform drug screens, physicals, and occupational medicine services.
• Prepare and clean exam rooms; sterilize instruments and maintain supplies.
• Discharge patients with clear instructions and documentation.
• Respond to patient calls, lab messages, and follow-ups.
• Support overall clinic flow and step in where needed.
