Job summary

Providence Medical Group South is seeking a Medical Assistant II to support patient care under the supervision of licensed practitioners. The MA II will perform tasks mastered in the MA I role and work within clinic policies to ensure safe, efficient care.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited MA program or MA apprenticeship, completed military medical training or equivalent, and at least 1 year of MA experience with vitals, injections, and meds, plus BLS upon hire.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of accredited medical assisting program with hands-on clinical training.
  • Graduate of MA apprenticeship program or completed military medical training.
  • Minimum one year of MA work experience including vitals, injections, and medication administration.
  • BLS - American Heart Association required upon hire.
  • Six months of healthcare experience and six months MA experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assist licensed practitioners in patient care under supervision.
  • Perform MA II duties per established policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and support clinical workflow.

Required Qualifications
  • Coursework/Training Graduate of an accredited school that includes hands on training in a clinical setting for medical assistants Or
  • Coursework/Training Graduate of a registered medical assistant apprenticeship program Or
  • Coursework/Training Has completed two years of medical training in the United States Armed Forces Or
  • Coursework/Training Minimum one year of work experience as a medical assistant that includes the following clinical skills: obtaining vital signs, administering injections, and medication administration
  • Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
  • 6 months Healthcare experience.
  • 6 months Medical Assistant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Upon hire: National Medical Assistant Certification

The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
