Job summary

Macomb Oakland Obstetrics PC in Michigan is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our Clinical Support team. This full-time role, 36–40 hours weekly, may include at least one 12 hour shift and will be scheduled across multiple locations to support Oakland Macomb physician/patient schedules.

You will take vital signs, input and maintain patient histories, perform venipuncture, and assist with procedures while ensuring professional teamwork and patient care standards.

Medical Assistant

Department / Group: Clinical Support

This position will be a direct report to our Clinical Support Manager and would be scheduled to work at multiple locations in support of Oakland Macomb Physician/Patient schedules. This is a full time position, averaging 36-40 hours a week, which may include at least one 12 hour shift. Office location may change based on needs of schedule.

Role & Responsibilities

• Take/record Vital Signs
• Input and maintain patient histories
• Venipuncture
• Support office procedures
• Non-stress test setup
• Other duties as assigned
• Ability to maintain focus, calm and an unbiased manner during busy schedules and issue resolution
• Ability to manage and meet multiple deadlines

• Ensure all process/procedure knowledge and actions falls with department standards

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Associates degree or technical training equivalent
• 1-3-year(s) experience in health care industry
• Proficient skills and abilities in - intermediate and above level of operation with MS Office
• Proficient skills and abilities in EMR
• Positive and friendly attitude and manner

Preferred Skills

• MA Certification
• 1-3-year(s) OB GYN experience
• Allscripts EMR experience

Physical Environment

Medial practice setting with administrative centers and patient exam and procedure rooms in all centers. Office and Medical/procedural equipment present.

• Lifting of no more than 10 lbs. occasionally
• Frequent sitting, standing, bending intervals at computer station and patient care area up to 8 hours per day
• Clinical and Administrative team presence, not an isolated work area
