Procedures & Testing: Assist providers with exams and diagnostic procedures, including EKGs. Perform phlebotomy (venipunctures and finger sticks), injections, and safely collect and process laboratory specimens.

Medication Administration: Prepare and administer oral and injectable medications and immunizations under the direct supervision of a physician or RN, strictly within your scope of practice.

Documentation & Administration: Maintain meticulous patient records in the EMR. Assist with front-office tasks, including reception coverage, answering inquiries, scheduling, scanning, faxing, and filing documents appropriately.

Inventory & Equipment: Perform routine calibration and maintenance on clinical instruments. Receive, unpack, and organize medical supplies, keeping examination rooms fully stocked.

Compliance & Professionalism: Strictly adhere to all safety standards, HIPAA regulations, and confidentiality agreements regarding patients, sponsors, and institutional review boards (IRBs). Act as a courteous and professional representative of the clinic at all times.

Continuous Improvement: Evaluate patient care workflows and contribute ideas for departmental improvements. Float between different departments or handle special administrative projects as needed.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

Clinical Setting: Work is primarily conducted in a bustling medical office and clinical environment.

Physical Requirements: Must be able to frequently stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift up to 35 pounds (and occasionally more). Requires manual dexterity and excellent hand-eye coordination for operating medical and office equipment.

Exposure: Regular exposure to laboratory processing, human bodily fluids, blood-borne pathogens, and medicinal preparations.

Pace: Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high-volume environment with frequent interruptions. Must be capable of handling potentially emotional or high-stress situations involving patients.

Travel: Occasional local travel to other sites within the Denver area may be requested.

Qualifications

Education: High School diploma or equivalent is required.
